When you use our Resume Builder, we process the information you explicitly provide:

  • Resume Profile Details: Full name, professional title, email, phone, location, links (website, LinkedIn, GitHub), work experience, education history, skills list, certifications, and languages.
  • Uploaded Files: PDF, DOCX, or text resume files uploaded for the AI Document Parser.
  • Analytical Identifiers: IP addresses and usage actions logged through Google Analytics to track resume builder exports and chatbot activities.

3. How We Process and Use Your Data

Your data is processed strictly to provide the requested AI-powered career services:

  • AI Enhancement: Sending resume section strings to the Google Gemini 2.0 Flash API to generate summary structures, enhance bullet points, or tailor text according to pasted job descriptions.
  • Data Storage: Storing saved resume JSON drafts inside our secure Supabase PostgreSQL database.
  • Sharing: Generating short, unique shareable URLs at `/resume/[slug]` to distribute to recruiters if explicitly requested by you.

4. Data Retention and Security

We implement industry-grade security measures to safeguard your information:

  • File Upload Security: We enforce strict size limits (max 5MB) and validate MIME types server-side to prevent malicious uploads.
  • Privacy Expiry Gates: You have the option to set custom expiration limits (e.g., 7 days or 30 days) on your shared resume links, after which they are permanently expunged. You can also hash your shared resume behind a 4-digit PIN lock.
  • Direct Erasure: You can delete any saved resume draft instantly from the builder interface.
